Farmers are being overlooked
Farmers
often get overlooked by society and this is the case because people are not
educated about all that farmers do for the world. Several people when they
think of farmers think that their dirty uneducated people which in most cases
is not true because most farmers today have some sort of higher education.
Farming can have very unexpected expenses like a tractor broke down and now they have to spend roughly $100,000 to buy a new one. This is the reason why most farmers
have higher education so they can have a steady full-time job outside of
farming. Farming has good years and bad years, so they cannot solely rely on
the farm income to have a steady happy life. Farmers get overlooked wherever
they are. You may experience while driving that you get stuck behind a truck
and wagon hauling grain to the elevator (where the grain is sold). These wagons
are transporting thousands of dollars and thousands of pounds of grain in them.
Whether that be corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, or any other type of grain. This
is their job; this is how they make their living. Getting that grain to the
elevator safely is the most important thing for farmers. Many people do not understand
this, and they get irritated and even act in irrational ways. Many farmers
experience hatred from other drivers on the road including explicit hand
gestures. What several people do not understand is that those farmers are
hauling grain not only to make a living for themselves but to feed you too!
Farmers are working from early morning to late at night not only because that
is the job, they chose but because they are helping you to survive. The
average working citizen spends about 40 hours a week working. That may sound
like a lot but compared to farmers that spend on average 10 hours a day working
during the busy fall and spring seasons your 40-hour weeks sound like nothing. Your
family farmers are one of the nicest people. They will almost always wave to
you as you pass by and are always willing to help out neighbors whether, they
are fellow farmers or not. So, next time you see Farmer whether they are your
neighbor or your passing them on the road just be kind. Wave your hand, say
hello, or just say thank you. A simple moment of kindness means so much to
farmers because several people do not show kindness to farmers.
